In this heartwarming tale, Leʻa embarks on an adventure to the smallest of Hawaiʻi's islands-Kahoʻolawe. As she approaches the barren island, Leʻa feels uncertain, wondering if there is any aloha left on this quiet land. But with the help of Kawaiola, a friendly monk seal, she soon learns that despite the island's scars, the spirit of kōkua (helping one another) is alive and well. Kawaiola shares the island's rich history, from its days as a sacred place where ancient Hawaiians navigated by stars, to its devastation in 1941 when military bombs left the land bare. But all hope is not lost! With volunteers coming together to heal Kahoʻolawe, Leʻa learns how small actions can make a big difference.
